The Caterpillar C8.7 marine main engine series is an I-6, 4-stroke cycle diesel engine, 117 mm (4.61 in) bore, 135.0 mm (5.31 in) stroke, 8.71 liters (531.5 in³) displacement. With common rail fuel system and electronic (A5E2 V2 ECM) governor.The Caterpillar C8.7 marine main engine series is rated at 2300 RPM and rated at 641 bhp (478 bkW).Caterpillar C8.7 marine main engine series complies with US EPA Tier 3/IMO II emission certification (commercial), X EU Stage IIIA emission standard, CCNR Stage II standard follows EU Stage IIIA standard, and the intake air is turbo-cooled.
