The National IV standard has been implemented. I want to know what special attention should be paid to the maintenance of the National IV equipment compared with the previous equipment maintenance?

Due to the needs of energy saving and environmental protection, engine emission standards have been improved, so there are correspondingly higher requirements for the use and maintenance of equipment. The main points are as follows:

1. The requirements for diesel oil are increased. The products of sulfur combustion in diesel oil will cause great damage to the post-treatment system. In severe cases, the catalyst in the post-treatment system will fail. Therefore, it is required to use ultra-low sulfur clean diesel oil (S≤0.001% ), you should recognize the genuine product when using diesel.
2. It is recommended to use CK or higher grade engine oil for engine oil. The ECF grade 3 engine oil specially developed by Caterpillar for non-road country IV equipment is a good choice. Its overall performance far exceeds that of general CK grade engine oil and can provide better protection!
3. For engines with slightly higher power, a small amount of urea aqueous solution needs to be injected into the aftertreatment system to cooperate with the reaction. The amount of urea solution is small. When adding diesel oil, just fill up the urea solution tank by the way; urea solution is cheap, but there are requirements for the urea content and storage conditions (temperature and time) of the urea solution, so please use qualified ones. Commercial urea solution is available at regular gas stations.

 

 

Winter is here, what are the correct warm-up steps for the excavator, and what aspects need to be paid attention to? How much water temperature and oil temperature can work?

First of all, you should check the antifreeze temperature of the engine coolant, and compare it with the historical low temperature records of the construction site, so that you know what you know. If you are not sure, please add a certain amount of concentrated coolant to adjust the freezing point of the system coolant. When it needs to be shut down for a long time, release the coolant and save it, and then add it to the system when it needs to be turned on.
In terms of warming up, the new machine is equipped with a protection system. When the temperature of the oil and water is low, the system will limit the machine’s movement speed to protect the machine and allow each system to heat up slowly. The old machine needs more patience from the driver, slowly increase the engine speed, operate the machine oil cylinder at a slow speed, lightly load, and slowly increase the water temperature and oil temperature. Generally, when the water temperature is around 70°C, it can be loaded to work. The proper working temperature of hydraulic oil is related to the viscosity of hydraulic oil.

 

Assuming that the gas station where I am located only buys -10 diesel oil after the temperature drops below zero every time, is there any way to avoid wax formation when using 0 diesel oil during this period? Coagulant, engine damage?

The phenomenon in question is real, and this status quo is still difficult to change, so we can only think of countermeasures. First of all, it is not recommended to use diesel oil with anticoagulant added. According to past experience, this kind of oil is harmful to fuel system parts. Customers also reported that some gas stations mixed anticoagulants into No. 0 diesel oil and sold it as lower-grade diesel oil, which is hard to prevent. The recommended method is to heat the diesel oil. There are various heating methods and forms, and the electric heating of the auxiliary fuel tank is easier to configure. From a safety point of view, it is recommended to use low-grade diesel oil that is suitable for the ambient temperature.

 

What should be paid attention to when shutting down outdoors in winter? Does the battery need to be disassembled?

The most important thing is to ensure that the coolant can withstand the low temperature of the environment to avoid freezing the engine and cooling system. Then there is the problem of not being able to start caused by the waxing of diesel oil. If you wait until next spring to start work, then you don’t have to consider these issues. The battery is not damaged by freezing, but when the temperature is very low, its power is greatly reduced. Waxing of diesel oil, high viscosity of engine oil, and low battery power are the main factors that seriously affect the starting of the machine in winter.
